Rosendale, NY – October 29, 2012
Over one hundred and fifty runners ran for their lives through the spooky woods, tunnels and caves of the old Williams Lake Resort outrunning some wild zombies who were chasing them. Participants were given the opportunity to participate in “The Zombie Escape” donning flag football belts. Runners who made it to the finish with their brains intact and a flag on their belt earned UlsterCorps Zombie Response Team certification card.

Complete results are posted on our website, ulstercorps.org. Awards were also given for best group costume to Kyle Dicostanzo and Angela Dorris who ran the course with Aliens on their backs. Best Solo Costume was given to Tim Cox who dressed up like a running hot dog, he made the zombies hungry.
The fun began with POOK playing at the starting line of the kids 1K fun run and then the kids ran off into the woods, they all made it across the finish line with smiles. After the 5K race started a group went on a one mile fitness walk/ hike led by Elvis. Peak Entertainment entertained everyone by spinning spooky tunes while all participants enjoyed treats from Twisted Foods, Davenports, Bodacious Bagels and Jenkins & Lueken Orchard.

All proceeds from the run benefitted UlsterCorps who partners with schools, civic and religious organizations, other nonprofit agencies and business volunteer programs. They are dedicated to fostering a spirit of service in all age groups, with a deep commitment to engaging high school and college age students.
