Support area farms and the local economy by shopping the many great farmers’ markets happening weekly around Ulster County.
While visiting the farmers’ markets be sure to stop by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County’s “Ask a Master Gardener†booth. Master Gardener volunteers will be available to answer home gardening questions and perform FREE pH soil tests at select markets (see schedule below). Those who wish to have their soil tested are asked to bring one cup of dry soil. The booth will be at the following farmers’ markets:
Rosendale Farmers’ Market
Sundays: June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11
Saugerties Farmers’ Market
Saturdays: June 25, July 23, August 20, September 17
Ellenville Farmers’ Market
Sundays: June 19, July 17, August 21, September 18
In addition to the “Ask a Master Gardener†booth at Ellenville, visit with CCEUC Nutrition Program Educator, Deanna Young. Young will be offering tasty food samples using local, seasonal produce and demonstrating fun interactive activities related to healthy eating and being physically active.
